Lucky impala escapes from lion's jaws (6 pics)

A dramatic moment of an impala narrowly escaping the lion's jaws was captured by photographers in Africa.

A lioness jumped out of the grass to catch the antelope, but missed. The high-speed camera captured how the predator almost clamped her jaws around the impala’s leg before he bounded away.

The photographers later noticed that the lioness had one eye blind, so she had probably misjudged the distance to her prey.
