Orphaned wombat and kangaroo are best buddies (5 pics)

Peggy the wombat and Anzac the kangaroo, both orphans, are inseparable friends. Their unlikely union developed after they shared a pouch at the Wildlife Kilmore Rescue Centre in Victoria, Australia.

Anzac was abandoned by his mother a few months before he was ready to be free. The five months old kangaroo was brought to the center and he was placed with Peggy, who was also feeling lonely. The two now sleep together and are comforted by each others movement and heartbeat.
